Gallery of BC Ceramics

The Gallery of BC Ceramics is a gallery by potters for potters. All ceramics at the Gallery are hand-made in Canada by British Columbian potters and, happily, it’s all for sale. The Gallery is owned and operated by the non-profit society Potters Guild of British Columbia. The Gallery furthers the PGBC mandate of education and encouraging new talent while providing a venue for ceramic artists to sustain a livelihood as potters.

The Gallery of BC Ceramics has been showcasing high quality juried ceramics for over 20 years in their exhibition space and retail shop on Granville Island. The Gallery coordinates and curates nine exhibitions a year, showcases one featured artist monthly –usually an emerging artist, and sells the work of over 100 artists in their retail shop. Its light filled display room makes an excellent exhibition space and shop where customers can find unique, handmade pieces including everything from clay jewelry to mugs to tiles to bowls to plates to urns to sculpture. The term ceramics embodies a wide range of ceramic mediums including: porcelain, clay, stoneware and pottery. Gallery staff is knowledgeable, friendly and available to guide customers. The frequent turnover in stock means that even a regular visitor is constantly surprised by what’s on display.
