Donna Partridge was introduced to clay when she returned to art school as an adult and was immediately seduced by the simple, contemplative process of making pots on a wheel. She graduated from the Ceramics Program at Kootenay School of the Arts in 1999, and now works from pushstudio located on the waterfront in the False Creek area of Vancouver.
Strongly influenced by Asian Ceramics and British Columbia's natural landscapes, Donna Partridge makes tableware that combines minimalist shape and intriguing surface detail. The work is not driven by its function, but rather the decorative elements stimulate the imagination. In that way, the objects communicate her ideas better than words possibly could.
