We moved to Vancouver Island in 2006 and I have been a full time potter since then. I learned initially from the women in the Bonnyville Potters' guild starting in 1996 and am very grateful for their early influences. I was a member of the Mount Royal College Pottery Club and I attended the North Mount Pleasant Arts Studio in Calgary for a surface course in 2005.
I work with cone 6 clay and make, from scratch, and test all my own glazes. I have a studio and gallery in Duncan, BC where I am in production working towards utility and lightness in the hand.
I make functional pieces and want only for them to be used. I learn everyday about my craft and practice making things that are comfortable to use and beautiful to look at.
I sell at the local Duncan Farmers' Markets every Saturday from 9-2, various seasonal shows and out of my studio on Hawkes Blvd. The public is welcome to stop by and catch me throwing a large jug or set of coffee mugs which they can also find in 'Coffee on the Moon' and 'Black Coffee', two local coffee shops that offer my mugs for sale.
