"I love the intimacy and dailiness of pottery. It is deeply satisfying to use handmade pots in my kitchen – a strainer for fresh strawberries, a jug for maple syrup, a platter for roasted vegetables, the perfect tea mug.

I am inspired by Japanese ceramics and contemporary pottery, by maps, stationery, tailoring and tools, by rocks, snow, gardens and the inter-tidal zone and by food beautifully presented. I hope the minimalist distillation of these fascinations in my pots intrigue and please the people who use them.

I live and work in my home in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, B.C., Canada. I have a new natural gas-fired kiln in which I fire my salt-fired pottery. My porcelain is fired in an electric kiln."
