I became addicted to clay in 1991 when I joined the Kamloops Arts and Crafts Club. Within two years I was instructing my own adult hand building class. I enrolled in the Australian National University’s Distance Ceramics’ Diploma program, which gave me the opportunity to learn new techniques and skills from a variety of amazing artists. I completed a semester in Jingdezhen, China and Canberra, Australia. I was exposed to instructors from all over the world including Greg Daley, Joan Bruneau Suzanne Wolf and Takashi Usuda, artist’s whose work has had a huge influence on my work today.
I have a huge desire to keep educating myself with the intention of evolving as an artist and teacher. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with my friends and students. If I can be creating art with clay when I am 90 years old, I will have lived the perfect life.
