All my life I have loved pottery. In 1991 I gave up my career in graphic art management in Vancouver and enrolled in the Ceramics Summer Program at Emily Carr and devoured every pottery book and workshop from Metchosin to Red Deer. My husband and I moved to an acreage in the hills north of Falkland, BC.
My work falls into three main categories: unglazed, burnished and polished smoke-fired pottery; incised black-slipped decorative pieces and richly coloured functional cone 6 stoneware.
Recently a piece of my smoke-fired pottery has been chosen to be in the National Exhibition, Canadian Pavillion at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in Korea in September 2009. Another smoke-fired piece has been chosen to be part of the 2010 Olympics Fine Craft Exhibition at the Vancouver Museum Jan - April, 2010. My work is in many private collections including 2 pieces purchased by former US President Bill Clinton.
