We moved to Vancouver Island in 2006 and I have been a full time potter since then. I learned initially from two women in the Bonnyville Potters' guild, Joy Clarke and Elaine Zimmer and am very grateful for their early influences. I attended the North Mount Pleasant Arts Studio in Calgary for a surface course in 2005.
I work with cone 6 clay and make all my own glazes. I have a studio and gallery in Duncan BC where I am in production working towards the market season.
I make functional pieces and want only for them to be used. I learn everyday about my craft and practice making things that are comfortable to use and beautiful to look at. I am going to be in the Nanaimo Farmers' Market for the summer and the public is welcome to come to the studio and look at my latest work, some of which is still wet at any time.
I volounteer my time at the Duncan High School in the art class doing throwing demos and I have students one-on-one at the studio.
The Nanaimo Farmers' Market runs from April 13th to October 5th; FRIDAYS from 10-2.
