The Nanaimo Pottery Co-operative was established to provide opportunities for mid-Vancouver Island potters from Ladysmith to Courtney to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for working with clay, in all its forms.

From the dedicated professional to the casual hobbyist, the Co-operative is an inclusive and welcoming community of potters that strives to support studio pottery as a professional and recreational activity by:

· Providing workshops, marketing and other services;
· Encouraging members to share knowledge, ideas, opportunities, and resources;
· Promoting public awareness of the ceramic arts;
· Encouraging high craft standards; and,
· Collaborating with local, national and international groups with common interests.

The Co-operative holds semi-annual sales, in November and May, where members can showcase and sell their work to the community. Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month from September through June at the Bowen Recreation Centre in Nanaimo. Along with regular business and pottery oriented meetings, social events keep everyone connected.

New members of all skills, experience and interests are always welcome.
